“It is the supreme art of the teacher to awaken joy in creative expression and knowledge.”

As an art teacher, I strive to be more than an instructor, I aim to be a mentor and creative guide, offering encouragement and support, and a space where students feel seen and heard. Art class can be a sanctuary for certain teens, a place where they process emotions, explore identity, and build confidence. By listening with empathy and showing genuine care, I hope to help students overcome challenges and feel empowered in their creative journey.
In the art room, critical and honest thinking is essential. I want students to question, reflect, and express their truths through their work. By promoting integrity and artistic independence, I hope they recognize that their voices, stories, and choices matter.
Above all, I aim to model compassion, openness, and curiosity.
